Senior Stylist

WHAT IS YOUR SPECIALTY?
I specialize in understanding my client's wants and needs through thorough consultations, and honest conversations. I refuse to start a service before feeling confident that both my client and myself are on the same page. So whether we're doing a custom haircut, natural, or vivid color, you can rest assured that you have been heard, and I will execute your service to the best of my abilities.

TELL US ABOUT YOUR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE.
I studied cosmetology in Madison, Wisconsin, at Madison College and graduated in 2017. Since then I have continued my education by going to hair shows all across the country, and taking both hands on, and virtual classes. I feel so fortunate to be a hairstylist in today's world. Everyday I have the opportunity to look at videos on Instagram, TikTok, or YouTube and consistently continue learning.

DO YOU HAVE ANY OUTSIDE PROJECTS?
Maintaining a healthy work/life balance is very important to me, so I try not to do too much beauty related stuff in my free time anymore. In the past I have been a volunteer hairstylist for The Penguin Project which is a foundation that puts on modified versions of famous musicals performed by children with various developmental disabilities.

WHY DID YOU GET INTO HAIR?
I tried the whole college thing after high school and it just felt wrong. I was so unhappy. However I bonded with a friend over our love of makeup and nails, and she suggested I try out beauty school. Once in beauty school, I finally felt like I was on the right track. For the first time in my life, I was effortlessly acing my classes and I was excited to go to school everyday. I get asked a lot, “Did you always know you wanted to be a hairstylist?” and the answer is no. But, once I got into this line of work it felt like I was always supposed to be here.

WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PRODUCTS TO USE?
I love the Nutriplenish line. I use the Leave-In Conditioner on almost all my clients. I also use the Nutriplenish Light Moisture Masque on myself to bring my hair back to life, since I bleach it often. In addition to our Aveda products, I really enjoy the Cult + King brand that we carry. Cult + King has a product called Tonic that is a pH balancer. Not only does it smell great but also helps settle the hair to a neutral pH which softens the hair and minimizes breakage. I always encourage my client to reach out to me for more product recommendations and I promise to NEVER sell products I don't genuinely believe in!

WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'RE NOT DOING HAIR?
I like to say my favorite hobby is consuming media. I try to watch all the newest movies and tv shows and keep up with new music too. I've also been known to dabble in video games from time to time (I'm a total Sims 4 nerd). However, I'm not a total couch potato. I workout regularly and I plan to run a marathon someday!

WHY FRENCHY’S?
Where do I even begin? I've been with Frenchy's since 2018. Frenchy's is my home and I love all my coworkers. We attract the coolest and very best clientele. I was initially drawn to Frenchy's because of its alternative vibe, but I stay because of its warm and judgment-free environment.

TELL US SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF THAT NO ONE KNOWS.
Okay so plenty of people know this, but it's not something I talk about often. In high school I wrote an award winning short play that was then performed by professionals at the Overture Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

TELL US SOMETHING YOU WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT YOU.
I met my partner Justin while we worked with artisan cheese together in Wisconsin. We love to cook and travel together, and we have a cat named Garbage.
